Just recently the government of Bangladesh produced a report with the amazing conclusion that maternal mortality in that country has dropped by 66% in the past ten years thanks to programs that are making prenatal care and delivery care more accessible to women.

One of the agencies that is helping make this difference is called BRAC. I'm hoping to visit with them someday and see first-hand the work they're doing in their maternal health programs.
The women of Bangladesh have many obstacles to overcome, but there is huge promise in what's taking place.
